Summer Job – Write For The Internet

If you are a student who is planning to find a job for the summer vacation period, then it is time to really start thinking about your options.  In fact you might have left it a little later for all the usual jobs.

The effects of the global financial crisis are rolling out to all types of businesses.  There will be fewer people at resorts and hotels this year:  there go the cleaning, waiting, shop and bar jobs.  Fewer families will have the money to send their kids to camp:  goodbye camp counsellors, swimming and tennis coaches.

And if you were planning to grab some office work while workers take a vacation, then think again – because people are too worried about their job security to take time off!

You may think your options for earning money over the summer have dried up – but that’s not the case.  All you need to do is to starting thinking outside the normal, and expand your horizons.   What are your interests, your hobbies, your talents, your sports or your talents?  Have you ever searched the internet for information about them?

The thing is millions of people do just that every day, and whatever your area of interest, there is likely to be lots of websites devoted to it.  Those websites are often run by internet marketers, because along with the information, the pages will also contain ads and links to product for sale.  In order to rank well with the search engines, and to get traffic to their sites, these marketers need fresh content for their websites.

Now remember, these guys are marketers. They are not writers, and they may not have any real interest in the topic of the site.  So they outsource their content writing – not to journalists (too expensive!) – to enthusiasts, like you.  Ordinary people are earning good incomes by writing for the internet.

The types of content needed are articles (around 500 words), blog posts (300-400 words), ebooks (30-300  pages),  product descriptions, forum posts and other site information.

There are places online that bring the website owners and freelancers together (for a small commission), and there is so much work that you can be earning money within days of being awarded a job.  And the great thing is that you can do it anywhere you have a computer and internet connection.  You can do it in your swimsuit, pyjamas, late at night, during the day – however and whenever it suits you!

The amount of work that is available is amazing – but get in the loop now, before everyone else hears about it.  Start off small, get a reputation, and watch the repeat business flow in.
