The Internet is the perfect home for writers from all walks of life but I need to be quite clear here: by 'writers' I am NOT only referring to professional writers of novels and journals. As far as I see it (and I know this from personal experience), if you have the ability to put your thoughts into the written word - you are a writer. And what's more, if you have expertise in any area - people around the world want to read about it. Many will pay for the privilege.

You may have a story that needs to be told - and by publishing it on the internet, it is there for posterity. It may matter little to you if anyone reads it now, in five years time, or if anyone reads it at all, as long as it has been recorded. Memoirs, biographies and family histories often fall into this category.

There may be some periods in your life that you find difficult to talk about, e.g. war recollections, or the death of someone you cherished, but by writing it all down, in your own words, and publishing it to the internet, it will find its own voice.

On the following pages I will provide you with as many resources as possible to enable you to become a published writer, on the internet - what an audience!

Why Listen to Me?

Good question! Here is my story in a nutshell.

I was taught to read and write in the old school way - verbs, nouns, adjectives, prepositions, possessive pronouns, "i before e". If I made a spelling error at school, it was marked as an error, not as a "good try". Do you see where I'm coming from?

I had good foundations for becoming a writer, but that's not where life took me.

While my working life has taken many turns, my writing ability always shone through, so when I worked in a high school - I ended up in charge of the newsletter. When I worked in marketing - I prepared the press releases and information kits. In big business, it was me who put the company reports together (before they were made boring by the accountants!).

Long story short: A few years ago, a colleague who is involved in internet marketing, sat me down and showed me my future. No crystal ball needed - he saw what I could do and knew how my talents could earn me a very tidy living.

In this short time I have:

• Learned how easy it is to build and publish websites
• Built up an impressive business providing writing services to website owners
• 10 writers around the world are working FOR ME to help me keep up with my workload!
• Published several of my own information products, e-books, of which I am very proud!
• Learned about affiliate marketing (still learning!)
• Built over 20 websites of my own
• Become a serial blogger - and this earns me money too!

My head is still spinning, but all of this has meant that I have just made the decision to devote myself to this business, and to toss in my day job - it has become that lucrative to me.

There is no doubt that my websites have been integral to this success, and I hope with Writers Xsited I can pave the way for you to do the same.

Making Money Online By Writing

Writers are in big demand on the internet and there are opportunities for everyone who can put words together using good grammar and good spelling.

You don't have to be a college graduate to be successful either. Many retired folks, stay at home moms and students from all backgrounds are finding out that there is great money to be had by writing on the internet.

• Write Articles For Others

Thousands of website owners are screaming out for good content to add to their sites, and good, reliable writers are hard to come by.

If you have knowledge on a hobby, skill, travel destination, child rearing, health, fitness, square dancing, making up stories for your kids, curing dandruff, managing illness (the list is endless), then you have what is needed to create your own information product, and sell it in a downloadable format, to the world. If you are not yet confident about marketing your own information product (and on this site I will show you how), you can ghost-write an ebook for someone else (and I'll show you how to find this work too!).

• Become a Professional Blogger! 

Website owners need their web logs (blogs) constantly refreshed, and will pay for good writers to add content to their blogs on a regular basis. This is a great source of steady income - I'll show you how!

Part Time, Full Time - The Choice is Yours!

Many people who are earning a very tidy income by writing for internet purposes have started out doing it in their spare time - some still do. But others have found that working from home suits their lifestyle and their budget.

Fuel costs and child care costs mean that a lot of writers from home find that while they may not be earning as much as a regular day job, they actually end up with more money in their wallets each week.

For some it is a very short time before they decide to make working from home their main source of income. It is good for them, their lifestyle and their family's well-being.

I have listed some great resources on the pages of this site - really practical steps and tools to help you make money by writing. How much you earn is only limited by your willingness to put in the time and not expect overnight results.

You won't find promises of expensive cars, luxury yachts, millionaire's lifestyle here. That's not my style. But what I do have is a load of information and some great resources for you to access.

Build Yourself a Website 

Getting published is probably the most frustrating thing about being a writer. If you have every written a short story or a topical article and tried to have it published in the 20th Century way (agent, publisher, rejection letters etc etc), then you may have become disheartened.

If you are planning to market yourself to others as a writer, or to publish your own work, YOU WILL NEED A WEBSITE. There is simply no way in the twenty-first century to avoid it, so don't start making excuses.

Building a website is really, really easy!

Trust me - I'm a mother.

I built my first website in September 2007 - having never even attempted such a thing before. Now, around 20 sites later (I am building 21 at the moment) while I don't consider myself an expert, I am certainly very competent.

Really, if I can do it, so can you. Perhaps the only real benefit my working life has given me is the ability to type properly - and this only allows me to work faster, not better.

When you think of building a website, you might conjure up an image of a computer nerd writing lots of code and speaking in that foreign language known as HTML. NOT SO ANY MORE.
